The recent Texas Scramble used a 20% handicap allowance instead of the more usual 10%.  It seemed to open up the competition and the scores posted on the board ended up quite close.

A couple of ideas for next year (pinched from other clubs that run a texas scramble) are ;-

Idea One of the 4 drives each must be on a par 3.
Idea No player drops out, all players play each shot.

anyone any other bright ideas / comments ?

I would suggest all shots were taken by all players.  The h/cap % made the scores much more interesting.
