I joined Longhirst in the early part of the year, having played it two or three times a few years ago. Due to a number of reasons I was unable to play until September so apologise if this topic has been covered in the past.
Can someone please explain what the small area surrounded with white posts and rope on the right of the 4th by the hedge about 30-40 yards short of the green is. White posts would suggest out of bounds, but I cant see why it would be. The ground has been worked on so maybe GUR. I cannot see it mentioned on the score card, but saying that my most recent card is in the bin!! Whatever it is, its like a magnet, i've played the course 3 times and been in it twice!!
Not having played the course for a couple of years, I have seen a tremendous improvement.
