|
|
I have played both courses this weekend and must admit I found the pin positions a bit tricky to say the least. Take the Lakes for instance, 4th hole about 3 yards from the back of the green, 8th at the back behind the hump, 10th on the very top ledge. Also the Dawson, 3rd, 7th, 16th and in particular the 18th at the very top. Has anyone else found them tricky or is it just me? Too many seem to be close to slopes on the greens in my opinion.

| I played The Lakes today and though the pin positions were ok. With the exception of the 10th which I thought was a ridiculous place to put it, I know its a relatively straight forward par three but putting the pin at the back left just at the top of a hill spoilt the hole a bit for me. |

| I don`t have a problem with the pin positions, its the diameter of the holes that causes me problems,is there any chance these could be made bigger to about 18 inches in diameter it may help my putting ha ha |

| My point is the fact that the majority of the pins are either at the back of the greens or actually positioned on the slope of the green means that try are harder to putt on and given the fact that the greens aren't in their best condition at the moment, people are having to trample over the whole green to get to their ball. That's my personal opinion anyway. |

| There should be a marked difference in the greens over the next week. They are now fully irrigated. They will be scarified tues and wed then height reduced to 4mm for end of week. This coupled with the first real temperature this year will help the feed too. |

Not sure if this is the place to post but..
Does anyone else think it would be nice to know the pin locations such as front middle or back when playing? it's just on Longhirst it could be 40 yards or 3 clubs different
I've played a few courses that use smaller flags on the stick in green yellow or red for front pin, mid or back.
